I've been to the other location of Deng Ji in the past, the one in Flushing, and I thought it was great! This specific location has a lovely space that's well decorated and has lots of seating inside! There's also a parking lot since it's in a plaza which makes it convenient to go to. Another thing I noticed was that there were so many families with kids, so I guess it's very kid friendly. Service was great, food came out quick! We ordered several appetizers and noodles and it was certainly filling. For appetizers, we got the popcorn chicken, oysters cooked in a garlic sauce with vermicelli noodles, and several skewers. The skewers were plump and had a ton of seasoning but it wasn't spicy at all. The popcorn chicken was crispy and came with what I believe is thousand island sauce? So that was interesting. The oyster was huge! Lots of garlic! For noodles, we got the sauerkraut fish fillet and spicy beef stew. In the past, I had gotten the crossing the bridge noodle soups which came with an assortment of different toppings and noodles that were all dumped into the soup at the table for you. Those are bigger compared to these noodle soups. These are prepared beforehand rather than put together at the table. They were still good but could've used more soup. We also wanted a spicy broth but the spicy beef stew wasn't spicy enough, nothing was quite spicy here. Overall, a good restaurant for any sized groups. Large menu with lots of things to offer. I personally do enjoy the type of rice noodles they have here since I grew up eating it. The texture is silky yet chewy. Would come back and try more things!

Pleasantly surprising find for us on Long Island! This place is packed, and for good reason. My fiance and I were craving some rice noodles but didn't want to make the trek to Flushing. Now knowing this is here, we don't have to! We ordered two of their rice noodles, & it's definitely on the pricier end when compared to ten second noodles in Flushing. However, they do make up for it with the toppings (which were plentiful in type and quantity) and massive portions of noodles. The broth was was flavorful but light at the same time - it didn't taste like it was super heavy on the MSG. There's also a good variety of broths (spicy, bone, fish, etc). Chili oil here (provided at the table) is tasty, and has a bit of a kick. I wasn't expecting much of the soup dumplings, but I actually really enjoyed it! The skin is the right thickness, & there's plenty of soup. Service here is FAST. The waitresses were flying by & they're super attentive without hovering. What's also nice is that they're kind enough to provide hair ties at the table. The interior of the restaurant is spacious & well decorated. It's a huge restaurant, and additional parking is available in the back.

Must Try! This recently opened restaurant offers an amazing ambience and experience! The food here is very delicious abs has so many flavors. Pricing isn't terrible for what it is. The service was very welcoming but I will caution, there seems to be a language barrier with at least our waiter. My friend wanted to add mushrooms to his order and after 15 minutes, the point/add on was unable to be properly understood. Overall, we enjoyed it quite a bit and will return!

My son came here to celebrate a friend's bday and ever since, he asked to come back again. The restaurant itself has a beautiful interior design, which made our dining experience feel luxurious. All the food came out quick- the presentation was nice, staff were very friendly and imo, this is as authentic as it gets when it comes to Chinese food. Not to mention, on each table, there was a caddy of different oils as well as toothpick, gloves, and hair ties- how clever. And there was also a tea warmer for the teapot. We got the beef fried rice, beef stew guanguan rice noodle, scallion pancakes, pork belly skewers, fried dumplings, the bridge ribs, and salt & pepper chicken. The fried rice was very oily and spicy (from the beef). My son loves their beef stew rice noodle (it looked spicy) and salt & pepper fried chicken. The scallion pancakes were thin, bland and didn't have enough scallions. The bridge ribs tasted decent- just fried pork ribs. My favorites were the pork belly skewers- flavorful & tender but could use less cumin and the fried dumplings with pork & chives- they were plump and juicy. Overall, the food is good, just that everything seems to be either fried, spicy, or quite heavy- I would definitely come back once in a while, tho. Fairy priced, too- our bill was under $100 (for 3 ppl), and if you pay with cash, they take 5% off your total.

Honestly, it could be a five-star very easily... I saw that this restaurant opened in my old neighborhood, which means old Levittown has come a long way since when I first moved here and there were only a handful of Americanized Chinese food options around the neighborhood. Deng Ji is definitely more upscale and seems more authentically Chinese than the General Tso's and sweet and sours (though there is a place and time for those dishes as well). We got there during a busy weekend night. They did not have a separate hostess, so we waited a bit before we could even get on the list to be seated. Our table was way in the front, but the restaurant was pretty deep and seems to have room to accommodate many diners. There was a bell to call for help- something I've only seen in Korean restaurants that I think more busy American restaurants need to adopt! We ordered Shanghai soup dumplings for appetizer. The wait staff said they would take 20 minutes, but these came in like under 10 minutes but overly steamed. As a result, the bottom was too mushy to pick up without tearing, and the soup leaked out. The ginger sauce came with the dumplings, but no spoons were offered, which would normally make these tough to eat. The soup dumplings were definitely skippable here. For entree, I had the bachelor bridge noodles and my brother had the spicy beef rice noodle soup. The spicy beef rice noodles came with everything already mixed and cooked. It was not very spicy, so I don't think these would be too spicy for anyone! The bridge noodles came in a beautiful presentation. A large, piping hot cauldron came with the boiling soup and all the toppings came in an octagonal plate. The server mixed in all the toppings in a proper order and made sure I knew when it was mixed and cooked enough to eat! The broth was a clean chicken-y flavor, not too strong on herbs. I was shocked how perfectly seasoned the soup was for looking pretty bland at sight. It was definitely a lot of noodles... I think it could feed two people if you have a couple of appetizers. They let me pack the rest of the soup to go home with, which I also didn't expect to be able to do! Overall, this is a wonderful restaurant that has great, elegant ambiance and would work for both family dinner and low-key cosy date night. The noodles were the stars of the show, though they serve a lot of fun Chinese dishes you don't normally see until you get closer to Flushing! The service was okay and might improve once they get a better grounding on how to deal with the dinner rush.
